ABOUT US

Who We Are...

Kandy Pop Photography was founded by Kassi Clifford and Cindy Davis, two friends who share a passion and excitement for Photography. They both attended University of Louisville, studying basic principles and Advanced Photography.

The two share many laughs together and enjoyed studying together so much that they decided to go into business together, deciding they could get more accomplished faster and more effectively together than apart.

The name, "Kandy Pop" is simply their first names merged together (Ka-ndy) combined with the "pop" sound they get every time they click their shutters!

Cindy originally attended Dixie college in St. George, Utah and served a mission for her church in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She is now a mother of four beautiful children (2 boys & 2 girls) to which she proudly claims as her grandest accomplishment. Aside from shooting her Canon, she can be found scrap-booking, cooking, decorating her house, traveling, on dates EVERY Friday night her husband (so sweet!) and coordinating the ever so popular "Girls Night Out" among friends. She loves art, plays and the open road. She is very social and is very rarely seen without a smile. She modestly describes herself as a "simple girl with simple dreams"...and that is just one of the reasons why you will love her! Another would be once you see what she's got in her "bag of tricks" for the kiddos; guaranteed to bring smiles and laughs! Kassi attended UNLV studying to be a veterinarian only to find her true passion was to create. While still an animal lover at heart, she has gone on to pursue many creative outlets including owning and designing Halloween attractions, painting murals, owning, creating and designing her own fashion line to shooting pictures with her Nikon. She strives to constantly challenge herself and never ceases to impress. She is also a mother of four and has served a PTA VP board position at her children's school and is most pleased with her recent accomplishment of raising funds to buy them a huge playground (which they never had in 60+ years!) The joy she was able to give to those children has been her second greatest accomplishment (her first was giving birth!) She has currently taken on the challenge of taking her children's education to the next level by homeschooling them!  She has 2 boys and 2 girls and one angel awaiting. She has a unique style, loves fashion, edge and would LOVE to shoot for Vogue one DAY! Hey, we can all aspire for something, right?! She doesn't mind being goofy and will do anything to get a laugh behind the lens. Want to know more about Kassi? Follow her personal blog here.  Random  10

A Funny Story

(as told by Kassi)
One day, I invited Cindy and her little chicklets to my neighborhood swimming pool.  While I was busy attending to my infant in the baby swimming pool, I looked over and saw her youngest child proudly dipping my brand new Samsung digital camera in the water.  I shrieked so loud that Cindy came running to my rescue and immediately began removing all the components from the camera (battery, SD card, etc.) and frantically patted each piece down with a pool towel.  We hoped for the best and I didn't turn it on until days later when I thought it was completely dry.  I took it on my vacation to Utah and was pleased as punch when it seemed to be working great!  When I got home and viewed my pictures, I noticed prominent water spots on each image where the water had done permanent damage.  I was so bummed.  Not only because most of my family vacation photos were ruined, but because the bright shiny new toy my husband just gave me was ruined as well.  Now for the funny part. That same little toddler destroyed her mommy's camera as well.  Ok...so it still doesn't sound too funny, I know.  But over a year later and a full on Professional Photography business later, it really is.  You see, I've thought long and hard about this one and I think it's because of this that we are where we are today.  Our husbands had to go running out to buy their wives new cameras.  Luckily for us, they were upgrades.  Big enough upgrades that they required us to sign up at the local University to learn how to use the darn things! ;-)  We never looked back.  We flew in fast forward and drank up any Photography knowledge we could like a sponge; researching the internet, books and local photography courses.  We both loved taking pictures before this, but never thought we would be where we are now when we go back to the pool incident.  Thanks to sweet, funny little Addie.  So, in a very real way, we have her to thank for all of our future Photography endeavors.  :-)  Funny story...I think so (only now!) ;-)
