Maternity Heaven

Okay, I know it seems crazy that we are a photography company owned by 2 women (both who have four children each) and we have yet to shoot a maternity session.  It's not that we haven't tried, but it just hasn't really fallen into our laps until now.  I was so grateful that it was a friend of mine and that she was patient enough to let me play so much with all of my ideas.  Unfortunately I have too many so we couldn't get through them all in one session....sooooo anyone knowing anyone preggers out there....bring them on!  We've got loads more in mind  ;-D

Amelia is one of those women that carries beautifully and basks in the gorgeousness of pregnancy. I'm thankful to know her because she is as beautiful inside as she is out. She has three other adorable children.  One boy and 2 girls.  Boy, poor little Sully is in BIG trouble!  She brought along the girls to the shoot and we just had to get those classic beauties (Ava & Sydney) in on the fun as well.
Here are some of my favorites from the session.

BTW: I really have to say that the times I have felt the most special and beautiful, I have been pregnant....LOVE and miss those times in my life. :)

Kate, The Blushing Bride...

When I think of the ideal bride, I think Kate fits that image closely.  Young and beautiful, innocent, virtuous and worthy of a great marriage.  She was so sweet during the shoot and the more time I spent around her, the more I felt her love for her future husband, her family, and even more so....for the Lord.  What a wonderful place to be spiritually just before making such an enormous step in her life.

It was a true blessing to be able to capture these images for her and her great family. I'm just sorry for her sake that it was such a cold day...poor thing was freezing!  Glad I made the call to bring a warm blanket for her between shots.  I even took off my own coat one when the blanket wasn't close enough!  The leopard fur brought out her wild side...thought it was kinda cute so I snapped off a few of her in all of her attitude! :)

I hope these images were worth the sacrifice of your comfort that day, Kate!  You are a classically beautiful bride.  Enjoy the slideshow of my favorite images from your bridal session (with a few teasers from the wedding day!)

Watch for Wedding Session Post in about a week!! CONGRATS to Mr & Mrs. Jorgensen!!!

64 West

We were so excited to meet our new clients, local band, 64 West and capture some images for them to use on their new CD.  What a great bunch of guys (and gal--see Bill and his sweetheart, Katie below)!

They were all so very fun and cool to hang with on our 2-hour shoot at an old warehouse where they were recording their sound at the studio that same day.

Cindy and I just fell in love with the location and the great bunch of people we were blessed to hang out with that day.  We shared many laughs through out the session and my only regret was not shooting them with their plethora of instruments.  Maybe next time.

They have amazing chemistry together and really get along well.  I can only imagine how well that translates in their music.

I would have to say my highlight of the shoot was when we asked them to get crazy and pull some fun jumps/actions for the camera.  Unbeknown-st  to  Cindy & I, 3 of the guys (Bill, Lanky and Will) quickly devised a plan to not really jump on "three" (their cue) and just let one (Aaron) of the guys go full ahead with it on his own.  I have to say that image makes me laugh every time I see it...sooo funny!!  :)

After that, we were able to get some pretty awesome ones of them all in action.  LOL

What a fun bunch of guys.  We wish them all the best of luck with their new CD and plan to see them in action sometime very soon.  To learn more about them, visit their FB page  and website here.  I'm still waiting to hear the awesome (so I'm told) rendition they do of Lauren Hill's "Killing me Softly"...can't wait!  Thanks, guys...for entrusting us with such important images for your band.  We hope you love them as much as we do.  :)
